About Jean

The following is a composite of my Twitter bio, my Facebook Bio, and an addendum at the end for what I'm focusing on here at Createslate.

Writer, USAF (ret), Spurs fan, conservative constitutional libertarian, '46 Merc collector, adult learner, naturalized Texan, supports 2nd Amendment, approves of dogs & cats living together.

My personality type is The Strategist (INTJ). Apparently, for those of you following the Color Code personality types, I am a Blue. Okay. If you're looking at Full Spectrum Color, I'm a Green.

After many years of thinking about writing, I've been actively writing fiction since 2002. Here are some highlights of what got me to this point:  Went to Ohio State University for a year, made toy drums in Massachusetts for nine months, went crazy, had to get back to school, enlisted in the Air Force, went to basic training, technical school for electronics, swapped an assignment to Hawaii for a great tour in Montana (oh, yeah, got married), got sent to San Antonio (separated from spouse), asked to go to Iceland, came back to Maryland (got divorced), finished my college degree, applied to and accepted for Officer Training School, commissioned, Montgomery, AL (got married to present spouse), earned Masters' degree, NYC, finally back to San Antonio.  Returned from three month tour in Kuwait in March, 2001.  Bought rural property.  Went to Virgina, deployed to Bahrain for three months, came back to Virginia.  Changed duty stations to Alabama.  Bought  old Victorian house near rural property.  Retired, June 2008.  Now, I'm really working. Have added storage building, an old automobile dealership building, and a working auto detail shop to our real estate holdings.  Now I spend most of my time maintaining property and making stuff up.

Here at Createslate, I'll be posting a few of my goals and the progress I make toward achieving them. I have a few overarching areas in my life I'm trying to integrate, and the whole thing is a spiritual journey:

I strive for Harmony in my life, part of achieving harmony is gaining True Health. My husband (Mr. L) and I travel extensively. Along with caring for all the cats and properties, I am a writer (who, sadly, sometimes doesn't write). Lastly, you can't have harmony without prioritization, so I'm prioritizing some things in my life, and that means some of those things simply must go. I'm finding the most gentle way possible to remove those things from my life.
