Note to Site Authors

Please generate an "About" Page for yourself -- I think you can do that under Posting.  Include a short bio about yourself -- anything you want people to know and maybe what you plan to focus on here at Createslate in a big picture way.

I created one example, but do yours any way you like.  If you plan to post on a specific day, that would be a good thing to include there.  I'll be adding my general Createslate intentions at the bottom of mine shortly.

Stephen has created the forum, but I believe the intent is for us to cheer one another on as we work to achieve our personal goals.  The About Page should help the rest of us know what you're seeking from us. That will allow us to be supportive in ways that will be most helpful to you.  Obviously, site posts can achieve the same thing, but I see the About Page as a way to let us see the "Big Picture."

I'll get mine done this evening. Thought I had one already, but may have "cleaned house" a few months ago and deleted it. Looking forward to contributing - it won't be daily, but I will contribute...and get my site link up and working again...soon.

Adam, I'm talking about a page here on this blog, not the one on your Blogspot profile. I think you have the option of adding a Page instead of a post -- if not, I need to know so I can figure out another way.

Uh oh. This may not work. On my posting page, I have three choices -- new post edit post, edit pages. After checking my other blogger site I'm not an am din on, I'm guessing Adam and Wendy don't have that option. Is that right?

Yes, Jean, I think you're right. As Admin, you have powers the rest don't! However, if Adam and Wendy would send his bio to you or me, we could page it, or you could grant him and her temp admin privileges to post their pages.

Let's hear from Wendy and Adam before we jump to that solution. I looked at PBOTL, and, since I didn't have any pages set up on it, I couldn't see Edit Pages. I don't believe the other blogs I'm Author Only on have Pages either, so that would explain why I didn't see the option.

Sending them to us for posting will work if necessary, Stephen, but I'm hoping we can maintain our own Pages, without having to go through admins.

Aren't new ventures adventuresome!

There may be a Blogger Gadget that will show our bio's or give a link to them. I'll check it out.

Yes, the Contributers gadget will show a link to our Blogger bios. Don't like that as much as the pages, though. What do y'all think?

I'm not real fond of it. My Blogger profile is about Inuit, because that's my primary site on Blogger. I could, of course, change it, but I don't really want to. For one advantage, I think it will update the list of contributors automatically, so from an administrative standpoint, that's a positive. However, our manually updated Authors gadget allows us to be more flexible, since some of us have our primary blogs on a site other than Blogger.

I figured this out when I logged in tonight... no worries. Stephen, I'll email you in a bit.

Dang. I was intending to work on my About page, but now I don't know what to do.

Adam, I can transfer your Authors link to adamhuckeby.com if you'd like.

Note to me: Even if the blog is in an open tab, the page needs to be refreshed once in a while or you miss the party in comments. On the plus side, I'm relieved to see that I can't add my own page. That means I'm not quite as ditsy as I thought I was. Today, at least. Jean, I'll write it up and e-mail it to you.
