Wendy's Week

Not a great week. I logged a lot of couch time thanks to the 5-day migraine. It seems to be gone now. Hopefully.

Good stuff:
- I did manage to get some laundry done, dishes washed, Christmas presents wrapped.
- Vicky came Friday night to help me decorate the Christmas tree. I wasn't going to do any other decorating, but maybe I'll get the creche out.
- We ordered our new counter tops yesterday, but there won't be any work in the kitchen until January. The cabinets arrive the 4th, and from that point it will be at least a month of living in a renovation. If we survive that, we're thinking our next house will be a fixer-upper.
- E-mailed "Held" to Splickety Monday evening, before the headache started, so I have 5-7 more weeks to wait for an answer on that.

Not So Good stuff:
- No writing.
- Not as much exercise, although I did get a good workout in fencing class yesterday, and I can feel it today!
- Ate out way too much.

This week:
- Write!
- Ship presents that need to be shipped.
- Cook and eat at home.
--- Figure out how to compensate for the loss of the meat thawing drawer in the new frige
- Finish Christmas shopping

Hope you get good news on 'Held.' And may the kitchen remodel go smoothly. Much more smoothly than bathroom drain pipe replacement, anyway. The solder in the wall didn't hold, so we're backtracking a bit today. I understand why he hates plumbing, and yes, in this instance, I believe a plumber would have been quicker and would have cost about the same, but that's not a viable suggestion to make.

Yeah, Jean, that's not the best way to go. He's as stubborn as you are! I mean that in the best way, of course! :) Eric's handyman skills tend toward taking a project from sorta broke to mostly broke so we can call the repairman. We have some stuff to learn before we attempt DIY projects in a fixer-upper.

Tammy, I'll post pics when we get going.

Glad you put of a tree. I put one up each year although it's rare for anyone to see it besides me and my roomie, and he doesn't really care. It makes me feel better about the holidays, which have been somewhat of a downer ever since my parents passed away. I have a couple of Nativity sets that my mama gave me and I always put them out.

My kitchen is small, but I do okay in it. The one thing I wish it had -- and if I ever move, it's going to be something I'll try to get -- is a dishwasher. Right now, there's no room to install one without losing two drawers and two cabinets, much needed storage space that I don't know what I'd do without.

Post pics of your new kitchen so we can all drool. :)
